ORC mission statement
The One Room challenge™ will provide participants with a supportive, enthusiastic forum in which to share the process of transforming a room. The ORC is not a competition, but rather a celebration of creativity, inspiration, and original ideas. Welcome!
Beginning in 2011 with the desire to finally finish ONE room in her home, Linda had the idea to motivate herself and a small group of online friends by setting up a challenge to work along side one another with the goal of having one finished room. She titled the event One Room Challenge™, as it became evident that staying focused on one room, from start to finish, was indeed a challenge.
Today, the bi-annual event showcases twenty designers/influencers vetted and selected by the ORC team. The first Wednesday of every April & October marks the start of another exciting season guaranteed to inspire, entertain, and inform the audience of new ideas and trends in the world of home design.
In addition to the Featured Designers posting on Wednesdays, everyone with an online presence is invited and welcome to join in the fun as a Guest Participant by linking up each Thursday for six consecutive weeks. Each Wednesday and Thursday, the internet and social media are flooded with interior design inspiration, original ideas, encouragement, and motivation. Both the official One Room Challenge™ and the Guest Participant Event are a source for digital, print, and social media outlets scouting for features and editorial content. Most recently, the Home Love Network is working in a licensed partnership capacity and will be producing five video tours of Guest Participants which we can't wait to view.
Linda Weinstein is the creator and owner of the widely anticipated online interior design event, the One Room Challenge™. In her role as director of the ORC, she has enthusiastically facilitated the transformation of hundreds of spaces across the interior design related online community. Partnering with dozens of companies such as Farrow & Ball, Annie Selke, Bunny Williams Home, and Fabricut, she's provided a strategic, highly effective marketing vehicle resulting in increased brand awareness and sales. Linda collaborates with various digital editors for features, and is also partnering with the Home Love Network for video programming.
After seven years of navigating the ever-changing world of brand partnerships, online collaborations, and influencer marketing, Linda has ventured from her role behind the scenes and is enjoying speaking opportunities where she can share her experiences and instruct both sides of the product equation; the influencers and companies to collaborate successfully. She has been a featured speaker at the Design Bloggers Conference, Americas Mart, and ADAC. Most recently, she held a showroom presentation sharing strategies to generate greater traffic through influencer partnerships.
As the One Room Challenge™ has grown from a small group event into an established brand and production, consulting with trusted industry professionals has proven invaluable. Every Guest Participant, Featured Designer application, and sponsorship inquiry is carefully considered. Each team member brings a unique perspective that contributes to the optimal success of the event.
